The Significance of Copper

Copper is one of the most important metals to have helped in bringing about the industrial revolution. This is so because it is indispensable to be used as wire for electrical equipments and electronic devices. Being a good conductor of electricity along with its quality of being very flexible, it is the only wire which can be used for electrical connections. Because this metal contains many impurities, it takes the process of electrolysis to free it from cadmium impurities to get “Electrolyte Copper”. This is considered to be 100 % pure variety of copper.

Bare copper wire is a type of this wire. It is used to make cables for electricity equipment like light and heavy transportation, lighting of subways, running mine trains, industrial cranes and buses.

Copper wire manufacturers have to be competent in all processes of copper processing if they want to cater to a larger cross section of customers. After extraction of copper rod from its ore, the process of copper wire manufacturing is not identical. Many varieties of copper wire are manufactured by different processes, each involving some very specialized procedures.

Various varieties of copper wires are tin coated copper wire, braided copper wire, tin coated rounded or flat braided copper wire, CRT Earthing wire or Assembly, flexible connectors or jumpers, bare stranded copper wire, flexible rope wire, flexible rope cable, submersible winding wire or coated glass wire. All these serve different purposes and require varying manufacturing processes. Some uses to which copper wires are put depend upon its ability of being twisted without breaking.

Copper must be the most popular metal all over the world and that is the reason why some countries depend on its trade for running their economy. Only the significance of electrical works gives copper wires such a big significance that we don’t even need to consider the other uses that it is put to.

Other uses like kitchen sinks, jewelry, cooking utensils are important themselves. The entire telecommunication industry is dependent upon the utilization of tinsel copper wires in order to work shows how important this little fragment of brown, shiny twisted wire. We get this wire in our homes but that never makes us wonder how much of a role it is playing in our lives. We should consider the importance of this metal, especially the role of the copper wire manufacturers in our lives.
